Phil Skaller and I had a great two days recording in Studio A at UCSD (Nov. 21-22). It all went quite smoothly after our production meeting with studio head engineer Joe Kucera and our engineer Martin Hiendl. The idea was as follows: I play trumpet, flugelhorn and process it electronically with my laptop (my own software authored in Max/MSP) and Phil Skaller plays prepared piano and I process him as well. What a blast, but what a workout. The sound turned out quite nice! We have a CD release concert in San Diego in January, but there is no way I'll have this mixed....so we will consider it a preview concert...

this seems like the kind of recording session that needed videotape, a stripper plus pole, and plenty of whiskey...thanks for the photos!
