Accidental Wine Tasting: with Burton Greene and Raoul van der Weide

One of the many fantastic things about this time of the year in Amsterdam: The sun stays in the sky so late.

I woke up early and went to work in the studio until 4pm when I met Raoul van der Weide for coffee on his houseboat. (Which he was in the midst of doing repairs after a leak.) Raoul had told me that Burton Greene lived in a boat nearby..."nearby" turned out to be about 25 feet away.

We went over to hang with Burton, and check out the piano (and harpsichord) he has on his boat. He informed us that there was an art opening across the way at Artivino across the street...we went, and it turned out to be a full blown wine tasting...great stuff.

A nice dinner at De Waaghal's on Wednesday with Raoul van der Weide, then off to OT301 where I saw Ava Mendoza...unfortunately had to leave early. Following the tourist pics, some of Ab Baars and Bill Elgart in concert, AND Johnny Dowd at The Winston!

Had coffee with Moore, joined by Bill Elgart. Here is Moore examining some computers at his apartment.

I decided to walk by the Winston to see if Dowd had finished, he had just started...at the beginning a half empty house so I made it to the front of the stage, but it filled up...

I moved into STEIM's guest house and studio on Monday...anyway, a few more of my vacationy-tourist shots, followed by some concert pics. I had the privilege of attending the video-taping for Shackle Stick, a project featuring my friends Anne Laberge and Robert van Heuman (with guest Yedo Gibson) at Zaal 100. What a great show, and a wonderful visit with David Dramm and Eric Boeren on the break.
